On Monday night, I attended our annual end of
the year banquet for cheerleading. This one was a bit bittersweet for me. I
haven’t officially made a decision, but I’m thinking that I may be taking a
break from coaching for a while. It’s such a huge time commitment (I won’t even
tell you how much I get paid for this gig), and while most of the girls are sweet, they
are also dramatic and kind of needy. I feel like this is the inevitable nature
of freshmen and sophomore girls in high school…they just can’t escape it. Plus,
the moms can be kind of a mess, too.
Case in point: the banquet was nice, for the most part...until at the
end, when a mom attacked me (read: cornered me and started yelling) for not putting enough pictures of her daughter in
the video. Oh, you mean that video I put together in all of my free time after
school? You know, the one I couldn’t work on from home because all the pictures
were saved on the school network? When I had to go through 25 CDs of pictures
from parents and then save every picture individually? And then chronologically put them in order and label them? And would you be willing
to assume some responsibility since the CD of pictures you sent me (after the deadline, of course) was BLANK?
Nope? Alright then. Thanks for a great year!
So, while I ponder my intense career decisions,
here are a few pics from Monday night.
