Spring Break

I’m back! I took the week off last week to enjoy my spring break. While I did not enjoy sand, sun, and warm weather like so many of my students, I did enjoy sleeping in and watching some basketball. Kinda felt like I was back in college. It may have been all the day-drinking. Oh, and I had to shovel my driveway again—why, oh why did it snow on the tail-end of spring break? Ugh. So ready for some springy weather!

Here’s a quick recap of the week—feel free to note my signature pose in many of the pics. I never picked up on that until I put all these pics together…I guess I should work on my posing skills. You know, throw in a new body position every now and then to mix it up. Sheesh.

Here we are on various days-into-nights at the Big Twelve & NCAA tourneys downtown at Power and Light. So fun! So many people and the weather was pretty nice the first few evenings for the Big Twelve. Sure wish KSU had pulled a win out over those 'Hawks, though.

And at the end of this first wild weekend, we had to celebrate St. Patty's day right and head down to Westport. Although it was rainy and cold, we had some fun at The Foundry.

{You know, because everyone needs a green-sequined bow}
After recovering from the first weekend and then watching my Kitty Cats lose in round two of the NCAA tournament (boo!), I met Miranda back downtown to (grudgingly) watch the KU game. But I did NOT cheer them on!

Whew! Finally, to cap off a fun week and weekend, my friend Gina’s birthday was yesterday, so we headed out to celebrate with some sush and crème brule at RA. After so much fun this past week (and many cocktails…ugh), I’m ready to get back in the groove of things with a normal week.

{Happy birthday, G! XOXO!}

It's A Good Day

{Hello}
Hello, and happy Friday! The sun is shining (mostly), the snow is melting, and it’s almost the weekend. I’ve got a super fun sushi/dancing date with my friend Gina tonight, the Kitty Cats play tomorrow afternoon, and it’s almost Spring Break (one week and counting!). AND—I finished my big stack of papers I’d been putting off grading. Whoop-whoop! What a marvelous Friday.

Cheers! (Because It's Over!)

On Monday night, I attended our annual end of the year banquet for cheerleading. This one was a bit bittersweet for me. I haven’t officially made a decision, but I’m thinking that I may be taking a break from coaching for a while. It’s such a huge time commitment (I won’t even tell you how much I get paid for this gig),  and while most of the girls are sweet, they are also dramatic and kind of needy. I feel like this is the inevitable nature of freshmen and sophomore girls in high school…they just can’t escape it. Plus, the moms can be kind of a mess, too.

Case in point: the banquet  was nice, for the most part...until at the end, when a mom attacked me (read: cornered me and started yelling) for not putting enough pictures of her daughter in the video. Oh, you mean that video I put together in all of my free time after school? You know, the one I couldn’t work on from home because all the pictures were saved on the school network? When I had to go through 25 CDs of pictures from parents and then save every picture individually? And then chronologically put them in order and label them? And would you be willing to assume some responsibility since the CD of pictures you sent me (after the deadline, of course) was BLANK? Nope? Alright then. Thanks for a great year!

So, while I ponder my intense career decisions, here are a few pics from Monday night.

Happy March!

It’s finally March! And it’s snowing…it's coming down lightly, but it's still snowing. Sigh. Here’s hoping…
